I had a booth at a wedding show last weekend which made me start thinking about sharing some of my favorite honeymoon destinations with you. As I started making my list, I realized just how great these destinations also were for vow-renewals on wedding anniversaries or even simply for couples get-aways. So whatever group you fall into, keep reading!
My favorites list is so long, since I always try to fit destinations with the couples – but I’m going to highlight five great places that you may want to check out. For photos and links to some of the other destinations on my list, please check out my Luxury Honeymoon board on Pinterest.
Anguilla – Viceroy Hotel and Resorts

Clik here to view.White, white sands…crystal clear blue ocean…pure serenity. That’s how I would describe the Viceroy Hotel and Resorts in Anguilla. For those not familiar with this tiny island, it is located in the Caribbean in between St. Martin and the Virgin Islands.
If you stay in one of the villas, your living room will literally open up onto the beach, with Meads Bay spread out before you. Guests who have stayed at the Viceroy in Anguilla tout the friendliness of the staff and wonderful cuisine. Online reviews typically use the words “exceeded expectations” – which is always a great sign!
Who should go: This is good for couples that would like to have their own private beachfront villa yet be at a resort that has activities available if they want them. It has an amazing spa with an infinity pool overlooking a cliff. The decor is modern and very chic. Anguilla has some of the most amazing beaches in the Caribbean!
St. Lucia – Jade Mountain
The owner of this magnificent resort wanted to create a “cornucopia” of architecture that would fit within the palette that nature had already provided. The result is the serene Jade Mountain, beginning with the long, suspended sky bridge to the the main hotel that leads guests to 24 different “sanctuaries”, or guest rooms, within. This resort is known for its infinity pools that are integral parts of each room. If you make it out of your room (and who would want to leave these gorgeous rooms?!), you can go to the spa, beach or take part in various activities, such as snorkeling, biking, boating and more. This resort, so unique in its design, has been lavished with many awards – including the top three Caribbean resorts by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
Who should go: This resort is great for couples that love nature. With only 3 walls in the rooms and a private plunge pool, it sets an atmosphere for romance. Each room has a domo (butler) assigned to it. No TV to distract you from each other of the beauty of St. Lucia! This is a resort for someone that is looking for something very special and unique.

Jamaica – Sandals Royal Plantation

Clik here to view.If you are looking to get the most out of your resort experience, you probably should discover the “Sandals Difference”. Sandals resorts are known not only for unmatched service and the quality and variety of dining options – they are known for simply giving you more of everything you’d look for in a romantic, luxury vacation. The Sandals Royal Plantation in Jamaica is one that I particularly love. It’s the only all-butler, all-oceanfront suites, all-inclusive resort in the Sandals collection. It’s old-world Jamaican charm with amenities that will exceed all your expectations
Who should go: This is Sandals boutique property. Every room is an ocean view suite with a butler to take care of your desires! It is all-inclusive so it removes any budgeting concerns while on your honeymoon. It is the quieter side of Sandals, but allows you to go to the larger Sandals resorts to spend a day at no additional cost.
South Africa – Lion Sands
Now we’re going to think way outside the box. I think the Lion Sands website describes this destination better than I could ever hope to:
Lion Sands is a place that enriches one’s soul and promises life-changing moments and opportunities that will leave you with memories of unforgettable experiences. It is an extraordinary gift passed down over generations and even for those of us who have known its sweeping landscapes since birth, it remains a place of overwhelming beauty and discovery.
If you are looking for a safari-meets-romance type of honeymoon (whether it’s your first or second), loaded with opportunities for adventure as well as peaceful seclusion…Lion Sands may be the place for you. It’s situated on a private game reserve, where you can go on amazing safaris and see the animals of Africa you’ve always dreamt of. At the same time, Lion Sands has a wonderful spa and breathtaking lodge retreats that would be utopia for any couple. For the most adventurous couple, book the Chalkley Treehouse and really get up close with nature!
Who should go: This is great for adventure travelers. The lodge has great game viewing options, being located on the banks of a river as well as having luxurious accommodations. The service from the staff will make you feel like you are the most special person there. Outdoor showers and private plunge pools are an added bonus.
Italy – Le Sirenuse
Charming…that’s the best word to describe Le Sirenuse, the wonderful hotel located on the Amalfi coast that overlooks the bay of Positano. If an Italian honeymoon or vow renewal is just your style, then I encourage you to learn more about Le Sirenuse. This hotel was originally the summer home of the Marchesi Sersale before it was converted to a 59 room luxury destination. Le Sirenuse is still in the hands of the Serale family members.
Guests can explore the Amalfi coast by boat and enjoy the beach, as well as visit Pompeii, Amalfi and other nearby cities. The conceirge service will help you plan just about any daytrip or excursion you desire…or you can spend the day in the spa and relaxing in the luxury of this beautiful hotel.
Who should go: This is great for couples that love sophistocated luxury. Breathtaking views of the Bay of Postiano, impeccable service, delectable food and the art throughout the hotel is like visiting a museum.
